LTC Jim Gigrich, also a co-founder of Independence Corps, formerly called America’s Huey 091 Foundation, received a commission in the U.S. Army in 1986 as a military intelligence officer following graduation from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he earned his Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. He also has a Masters degree in Electronics Systems Engineering from the Canfield Institute of Technology, UK and a Masters degree in Operations Research from Georgia Institute of Technology. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Systems Engineering from George Washington University.
During Jim’s military career he served in many leadership positions responsible for the operation of critical national security missions around the world. His foreign deployments and assignments include but are not limited to German, United Kingdom, Iraq, South America, Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe. In 2003 working as a program manager for the Rapid Equipping Force, Jim was responsible for equipping US forces with innovative and critical technologies during combat operations in Iraq.
Jim has long been involved in church, charitable and veteran organizations. Since 2007, Jim has volunteered for Snowball Express, an organization that serves the children of our fallen military heroes. He is instrumental in the execution of a yearly gathering of over 1500 family members and children as the deputy director of the Snowball Express command center.
After retiring from the U.S. Army in 2006 after 20 years of military service, Jim worked for Keysight Technologies, the legacy Hewlett Packard company as the Senior Director of Government Affairs in Washington D.C. His hobbies include a passion for fly-fishing, mountain biking, and skiing.
Jim is married to Rebecca Gigrich of the United Kingdom, a small animal veterinarian, and they have four sons.
